Update (08/13/2020 – 18:14 PT)
** These maintenance items are complete **
WSU FacOps completed some work today, but identified new flow/valve issues that will likely result in future scheduled maintenance/work.
All planned outage systems/servers were brought back online today by 17:45 PDT; those with a scheduler are flowing all held jobs through the queue.
As always, if anyone encounters problems with related systems, they should contact the VCEA Helpdesk online at support.vcea.wsu.edu, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at (509)335-6773.
POC: VCEA Systems Team (Andrew Bates)
What: Aeolus, Gauss, & Friedrich will be taken offline to accommodate critical ACU2 maintenance.
- Start: Thursday August 13, 2020 10:00 PDT
- End: Thursday August 13, 2020 18:00 PDT
- Duration of outage: 8 hours
- Maintenance or service outages may not last the entire maintenance period. A notification will be sent once maintenance is complete.
Affected resources: Aeolus, Gauss, & Friedrich login nodes, compute nodes, web nodes, and storage.
Affected users: Aeolus, Gauss, & Friedrich users.
Notes: To provide adequate shutdown, turn on, and buffer, the clusters’ “offline” time are buffering 2-hours in either direction of expected ACU2 maintenance. Clusters using a scheduler will be able to schedule jobs, but they will be blocked/held until the end of the maintenance period.
Notification procedures: A notification will be sent as a response to this email when maintenance is complete or if there are issues/complications. A notification will be sent as a response to this email if this maintenance is rescheduled.
Follow-up actions required by users: Systems Logging back in after the maintenance is complete.
If users encounter problems with services after the maintenance window is over, they should contact the VCEA Helpdesk online at support.vcea.wsu.edu, by email at email@example.com, or by phone at (509)335-6773.
