ssh1.eecs.wsu.edu Shutdown Notification – May 8th, 2025

ssh1.eecs.wsu.edu will no longer be available after May 8th, 2025.

ssh1.eecs is running CentOS 6 operating system, which reached end-of-life on November 30, 2020. It is no longer receiving OS updates, and is a network security risk.

To ensure the continued security of our systems, we have implemented replacement resources:

• jump1.eecs.wsu.edu and jump2.eecs.wsu.edu
  • CLI access only, no GUI
• jump-gui1.eecs.wsu.edu and jump-gui2.eecs.wsu.edu
  • Both CLI and GUI access*
• ictools1.eecs.wsu.edu and ictools2.eecs.wsu.edu
  • Both CLI and GUI access, tailored for using ictools design packages.*

* Machines listed with GUI access can be accessed through RDP or via VCEA Connect while on campus or when connected to the WSU VPN.

Please take this opportunity to verify that these new resources function seamlessly in place of ssh1.eecs. Please use the ictools resources for your ictool workloads. If you encounter any issues, please email support.vcea@wsu.edu for assistance.
