The VCEA printserver, printserver.vcea.wsu.edu, is being updated to mitigate CVE-2021-44228. The mitigation process requires taking the server offline for approx. 5 minutes. Due to the severity of this CVE, we are applying these mitigations as soon as possible.

When:

Start: Monday December 13, 2021 17:00 PST
End: Monday December 13, 2021 17:15 PST
Duration of outage (PaperCut NG – printing/billing capabilities): Duration of maintenance window
Maintenance or service outages may not last the entire maintenance period. A notification will be sent once maintenance is complete.

Affected resources: printserver.vcea.wsu.edu web interface, end-user printing services

Affected users: printserver.vcea.wsu.edu users

Notes: This maintenance is only expected to take a few minutes to complete

Notification procedures: A notification will be sent as a response to this email when maintenance is complete, or if there are issues/complications. A notification will be sent as a response to this email if this maintenance is rescheduled.

Follow-up actions required (printing users): Jobs submitted during the maintenance period will likely need to be resubmitted

Follow-up actions required (PaperCut web users): Users will need to re-authenticate to the web interface
