We will be performing emergency maintenance on the EECS NetApp tonight to correct some issues that arose after last week’s firewall and switch maintenance. The work being performed will likely be disruptive to file shares.

End users should save and close all open files from VCEA network shares prior to the start of the maintenance window. Failure to do so could result in a loss of data for open and/or unsaved files.

While this maintenance should be fairly straightforward and routine, due to the age of the NetApp, we have factored in additional time for the maintenance window to account for surprises.

Start: Monday January 10, 2022 21:00 PST
End: Monday January 10, 2022 23:59 PST
Duration of outage (EECS NetApp file shares): Entirety of maintenance window
Maintenance or service outages may not last the entire maintenance period. A notification will be sent once maintenance is complete.

Affected resources: VCEA fileshares hosted on the legacy EECS NetApp server

Affected users: NetApp fileshare users

Notes: N/A

Notification procedures: A notification will be sent as a response to this email when maintenance is complete, or if there are issues/complications. A notification will be sent as a response to this email if this maintenance is rescheduled.

Follow-up actions required (end users): Users may need to reboot their computer in order to reconnect to the NetApp file shares
