“Your WSU/DEVAD password is expiring in three days” Email Reminders

WSU ITS has changed how service account passwords are handled. The following message below is legit. You can either ignore it and continue to receive these email reminders or forward the request on to crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu to have it deleted.

The devad.wsu.edu account came from when Workday was in the process of being tested. These accounts were setup so that people could test Workday without impacting one’s actual WSU account.

Action Required for – wsu_nid@devad.wsu.edu

Hi “insert your name here”,
Update your password as soon as possible by logging into logintst.wsu.edu prior to the scheduled expiration in three days.

(WSU Information Technology Services is the author of this request. If you would like to confirm authenticity, you can forward to abuse@wsu.edu and they will assist in verifying this email is valid.)

Remember
After changing your WSU account password, be sure to update any stored passwords on your computers and mobile devices. Common locations for stored passwords are in email and calendar applications, wireless profiles, and internet browsers.

Failure to update stored passwords may result in your account being locked due to these applications trying to connect with your old password multiple times.

Please contact Crimson Service Desk (email) or by phone at 509-335-HELP if you have any questions.
