[2022-01-05 – 17:30 to Midnight PST ] VCEA IT Critical Maintenance – VCEA Network Maintenance
Update:
Maintenance is complete as of 3am, there were very few interruptions after midnight, but there may have been a few network packets lost here or there as things were wrapped up past the expected end, but the majority of the outages occurred prior to midnight.
Depending on configuration Windows users may be presented with a “you’re on a new network” dialog asking if it is a public or private network, this is expected in certain scenarios and nothing to worry about if you see it.
As usual, the first step to debugging any machines with issues should be to reboot it. If the problem persists please contact the VCEA Helpdesk online at support.vcea.wsu.edu, by email at support.vcea@wsu.edu, or by phone at (509)335-6773.

There will be maintenance on VCEA networks tomorrow, Wednesday January 05, from 5:30pm until midnight. Maintenance is not expected to last the entire time, but there may be total outages within this window lasting for 5-30 minutes at a time.
Users should save all work and logoff or shutdown their machines at the end of the workday (by 5:30pm) on Wednesday and reboot them Thursday morning if they experience any lingering issues.

What: VCEA network switches and firewalls will be updated, rebooted, and checked for proper function
When:
- Start: Wednesday January 05, 2022 5:30 PM (17:30) PT
- End: Wednesday January 05, 2022 Midnight PT
Affected resources: All VCEA Networks and services
Affected users: All
Notes: Users are advised to logoff and/or shutdown their machine by 5:30pm Wednesday, and reboot their machine Thursday morning if they experience any issues.
Notification procedures: A notification will be sent as a response to this email when maintenance is complete, or if there are issues/complications. A notification will be sent as a response to this email if this maintenance is rescheduled.
